We are so excited for the 2023-2024 school year. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know your scholars, this school year.
Thank you, for entrusting your students with the staff of O.W. Best Middle School. Together we can create a very powerful force to be reckoned with. It is my belief that parents and families, are an integral part of the learning process. We encourage you to be an active part of your child’s academic career. You may become also become
part of our PTO. We plan to collaborate with families and students for many events.
I would like to introduce myself to the community and share out some of my philosophies regarding education. My career in education began in 2002. I have spent the majority of these years, teaching in Detroit Public Schools Community District. My administration career includes four years as the Assistant Principal of Neinas
Dual Language Learning Academy (DPSCD).
My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University, where I studied Political Science and minored in Studio Art. I earned my first Master’s Degree in Education from Marygrove College, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, from Grand Valley State University.
I am a firm believer in creating a strong school culture and climate, which is built on positive relationships and community. All students should be given real-world connections and opportunities, creating lifelong learners. Students should be well-rounded and given many opportunities to tap into what may peak their future interests.
The smallest spark can create a life-long passion and/or career path.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my ten year-old son, Symon. Other interests include music, antiques, vintage items, restoration, collecting vinyl records, cooking shows, and gardening. I also enjoy attending classic rock concerts and hip-hop shows.

Warmly,
